tasks 5,6,7,8

My finished product is quite similar to my original idea, the colours has remained the same, my idea was always to use black and white for the advert, i always wanted to use “Candice Accola” as my model for my advert and the hourglass shape of the bottle has remained the same. Overall I feel that my advert has stayed pretty much the same and has not substantially changed

I feel my product is defiantly suitable for my target audience it has the right colour schemes and the images portray to a teenage market, the name and bottle shape suit the target audience.

One of the challenges I have over come is creating an image with out a background using the magic wand tool on photo shop. Which removes a background from an image, as long it is the same colour. It does this by isolating out the contrast of colours and removing what it picks up as the background.

Also I have learnt how to upload a document to blogger correctly, using scribd, by embedding a document. I did this by changing the document to “. doc” and uploading it to scribd via a HTML file, then embedding the document and copying the link then pasting it on to a HTML blog post on blogger.

A technical skill I have gained is scanning images from paper on to the computer using a USB stick. I did this by using the scanning to scan the document/ image onto a USB stick and then putting the USB stick into the computer and transferring the documents/images  onto my file and then uploading to scribd then blogger.

TV lisitings magazine questionairre

I asked 3 people within my target audience to comment for my TV listings  magazine cover , i deliberately asked qualitative questions instead of quantitative questions to find out their opinions.
My questionnaire allowed me to find out, that my audience liked the bright colours and large text as it is easily noticeable and attracts you to the magazine. It also told me that my audience think that the price of my magazine is very fairly priced if not a bit to cheap. I also learnt that they liked the images as they felt they related well to the stories and topics.
Overall i am happy with my audience feed back on my magazine and it has helped me to think how i might improve if i was to make another magazine cover.

Permissions when using photographs
When using a photograph that you have not taken yourself. You must seek permission from the owners of that photo. If you are not using the photo for financial gain then it is an exception and you do not need to get permission then you can use the photo under the "fair use" policy. Part of the permission of using the photograph the owner of the photographs name must be printed with the image and also must share any profit gained from the use of that photograph.

Model release

The purpose of this model release is to explicitly state the purposes for which the images covered by this release may be used, by both the photographer and the model. Any use not explicitly stated in this document is prohibited and will require an additional release signed by both photographer and model The photographer named below will retain the document original. The model may request a copy of said document. Any changes should be clearly marked and initialed by both photographer and model on all copies of the release.

Models under 16
Models under the age of 16 must have a legal parent or guardian's signature, children models used to raise awareness about child abuse, must state clearly "POSED BY MODELS" if a child is paid as a model, registration must be sought from the local authority.

Property release
A property release can also be required in some countries if a certain building is used for advertising. Some famous buildings could be protected by trademark laws, if a building is included in an image of a skyline then a property release is no longer needed.

A property release should be obtained if;

  • The focus of the shot is a private home/residence where as photographs of a street doesn't need a property release
  • Anything inside a building, (artwork) maybe protected by copyright
  • A photograph of the interior could make a building identifiable
